Pastor Juri Thompson has a heart for preaching the gospel, equipping believers, and leading the church to love God and love others well. A native of Ouachita Parish, Juri graduated from Ouachita Parish High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
While in college, Juri surrendered to God’s call to ministry in 2013. He later attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry in 2021.
Juri was ordained to the gospel ministry in 2017 by Family of Faith SBC in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he served faithfully as Youth and Children’s Minister. After several years of ministry experience, God opened the door for him to serve as Pastor of Archibald First Baptist Church, where he has been joyfully serving since 2023.
Beyond the pulpit, Juri is a devoted husband and father. He married his beautiful wife in 2015, and together they are blessed with two amazing and brilliant daughters, Aubree and Naomi. He treasures time with his family and sees his home life as an extension of his ministry—living out the love of Christ daily.
Pastor Juri’s desire is to preach the Word with clarity, shepherd God’s people with compassion, and help every believer grow into a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ.
